| Driller |
| Drillers are members of drilling crew or service rig crews who direct crew operations. Drillers are responsible for the drilling equipment. They report directly to the drilling rig managers. They are also responsible for the crew when the drilling rig manager is not present, ensuring that the crews do their jobs safely and efficiently. Drillers operate pumps, rotary table, the draw-works, and drill pipe. They monitor the progress of the drilling operation and determine when bits need to be changed. They train crew members and introduce new procedures which may help the crew to work more safely and effectively. They also keep a current record of the progress of drilling. | Responsible for the drilling equipment on a rig. In general, drillers operate the draw-works, rotary table, pumps and drill pipe, monitor the progress of the drilling operation and keep a record of the progress of drilling. | Same responsibilities as a Driller (see above). Drilling with heli-portable is highly physical. Duties include drilling holes for explosives (seismic).

| Helps driller as required. Operate drilling equipment. Involved with the drilling and casing wells with pipe. Work is physically demanding and requires a lot of energy.
